Becoming a State H2E Organizational Partner

Organizations that are committed to working with healthcare facilities to improve environmental performance can participate in H2E by becoming an Organizational Partner organization. H2E will work with you to apply to the H2E Organizational Partner program, review your application goals and walk you through the approval process. An H2E Organizational Partner Coordinator can answer questions about the application process and timeline. For information on what activities and goals other organizations have committed to, see the Sample State Organizational Partner Applications below.

Compliance Information from the Environmental Compliance and Beyond section of this website

The Environmental Compliance and Beyond section is found on the top navigation of our webpages and is an H2E and EPA-sponsored website designed to assist the healthcare sector in understanding their compliance obligations—to the variety of entities that regulate healthcare, including EPA, OSHA, JCAHO, DOT, NFPA, HIPAA and others. We are working in collaboration to provide ‘one-stop shopping’ for your compliance assistance and pollution prevention needs. We also have State Locator pages for different regulatory areas:

Funding Opportunities

States and regions have used a variety of methods to fund State H2E programs. H2E can provide some assistance to help states search and apply for funding sources to support State H2E initiatives. H2E posts a list of requests for proposals (RFPs) from federal agencies [contact Chen Wen for this information]. H2E is also available to help strategize on program strategy and deliverables for grant proposals to support state programs. Contact H2E’s State Partnership Program Coordinator for more information.

State Award and Recognition Programs

While H2E runs a national Awards and Recognition program, and State H2E programs actively encourage their participants to apply for these national awards, some states/regions have also integrated H2E into state and regional-level award programs, thereby giving hospitals the opportunity to be recognized at both the state/regional AND national levels. Some examples include:
