Reducing Infection Rates Through Training, Operations and Purchasing Decisions
There are many methods that hospital staff can utilize to potentially reduce infection rates, including comprehensive training and the modification of purchasing decisions. This session will highlight two unique strategies for reducing the risk of infection: The first is a case study on a hand washing encouragement program, and the second will identify how
hospitals can purchase meat and poultry that are not treated with non-therapeutic antibiotics as part of a larger strategy to potentially reduce drug resistance in patient populations.
