Publicity Begins at Home!

Make Sure Your Organization Celebrates Your Award!

Does your CEO know what your Green Team has accomplished? Does everyone who works at your hospital know that it has won a national environmental award? Is the word getting out to every community member who visits your facility?

Publicity isn’t just a matter of targeting press and television. Your own organization needs to know about your Practice Greenhealth award. Share the news through in-house newsletter and listservs. Post it on Intranet sites and on posters and fliers. Make sure that everyone from the loading dock to the corner office shares the pride! Help them become stakeholders in your ongoing campaign for environmental excellence!

How does in-house publicity happen? Talk with your Public Relations Department. Plan an in-house celebration of your Practice Greenhealth award and the people who made it possible… and then invite the media! Make use of Practice Greenhealth’s sample press releases and press kits. And don’t be shy! After all, you’re not blowing your own horn. You’re sounding the charge toward a cleaner, healthier future!
